Beyoncé produced and curated her new album titled “The Lion King: The Gift” which will have songs inspired by Disney’s new remake of the movie The Lion King. Set to release on Friday, July 19th, Beyoncé voices Nala in the film. In her own words, the album is a “sonic cinema” and “a new experience of storytelling”.

I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.

Her new video from the album, “Spirit” premiered on ABC primetime special on Tuesday. It’s a beautiful video with scenes from the film interspersed with visually stunning footage of Beyoncé and her dancers performing in the Pride Lands. Her daughter Blue Ivy Carter also appears on the video.

The album which consists of 13 tracks – eight by Beyoncé herself and others by JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Tierra Whack, and Blue Ivy – officially releases on Friday to coincide with the film’s theatrical release. Until then, enjoy the video.
